Four Ambulances for Ukraine

Thanks to the proceeds from the Christmas tree sale and the generous donations from members of the Rotary Club Detmold-Blomberg, four ambulances have been purchased to support Ukraine.

The first ambulance was already delivered to Ukraine by Ukraine Aid Lippe Bielefeld before Christmas. Earlier this week, the second vehicle, a VW Crafter, was transferred directly by the Ukrainian side. This Friday, vehicles number 3 and 4—two Mercedes-Benz ambulances—will follow. These will be driven to Ukraine by members of Ukraine Aid Lippe Bielefeld.

Our drivers this time are Ulrich Nolting, Alan Stanton, Holger Warnat, and Norbert Rosin.

Our special thanks, as well as those of our Ukrainian partners, go to the Rotary Club Detmold-Blomberg, whose members have achieved something truly incredible. Thanks to the proceeds from their Christmas tree sale, they were able to finance not just three ambulances as originally planned, but even a fourth one. I would like to especially mention the current president of the Rotary Club Detmold-Blomberg, Stefan Karsch, who approached me with the idea of donating ambulances in October 2024. A heartfelt thank you for this wonderful idea and its excellent execution.

Unfortunately, the ongoing war, with its unimaginable destruction, continues to create immense suffering, making our humanitarian aid and support more necessary than ever.

So far, we have organized 26 aid convoys, delivering a total of 64 vehicles to Ukraine, including multiple ambulances and a fire truck.

Additionally, we transported the entire inventory of a hospital from Bad Rothenfelde to Ukraine using three large truck convoys. Other donated items include an X-ray machine, several ultrasound devices, medical supplies such as bandages and medications, dozens of wheelchairs, approximately 80 hospital beds donated by Bethel Hospital, kindergarten beds from a kindergarten in Lemgo, and countless sacks of clothing, especially winter clothing.

The vehicles and donated goods are first transported to the small town of Kostopil, where a private warehouse has been provided by a local supporter. The supplies are sorted there and then distributed primarily to three different hospitals. Medical supplies, particularly bandages, are sent directly to the frontlines.

The four donated ambulances will be used in the civilian sector to quickly transport people injured by rocket or drone attacks—or those wounded in frontline areas—to hospitals.

What makes our aid so extraordinary is that it is provided entirely by volunteers (commitment to voluntary work), we know exactly where the donated goods go (transparency), no costs are incurred by organizations (extensive network), and there is no corruption involved (photo documentation by the Ukrainian side).

Our partners in Ukraine are Sergej Dworskyj from Kyiv and Nataliya Didenko from Kostopil. Nataliya Didenko is the local coordinator in Ukraine and has traveled here today specifically to express her gratitude for the incredible generosity of the people from Lippe and Bielefeld.

Her thanks, of course, go especially to the Rotary Club Detmold-Blomberg, which made these four wonderful ambulances possible.

Чотири реанімобілі для України

Завдяки виручці від продажу різдвяних ялинок та пожертвам членів Ротарі-клубу Детмольд-Бломберг було придбано чотири реанімобілі для підтримки України.

Особливу подяку, а також подяку наших українських партнерів висловлюємо Ротарі-клубу Детмольд-Бломберг, члени якого зробили неймовірну роботу. Завдяки їхньому різдвяному ялинковому продажу та пожертвам вдалося профінансувати не три реанімобілі, як планувалося спочатку, а навіть чотири.

Особливо хочемо відзначити нинішнього президента Ротарі-клубу Детмольд-Бломберг, Стефана Карша, який у жовтні 2024 року звернувся до нас із ідеєю придбання реанімобілів. Велика подяка за цю чудову ініціативу та її відмінну реалізацію.

Нашими партнерами в Україні є Сергій Дворський із Києва та Наталія Діденко з Костополя. Наталія Діденко є координаторкою в Україні і спеціально прибула сюди сьогодні, щоб подякувати жителям Ліппе та Білефельда за їхню велику готовність до допомоги. Вона також висловлює окрему подяку Ротарі-клубу Детмольд-Бломберг, який профінансував ці чудові чотири реанімобілі.

Важливо зазначити, що наша допомога базується на добровільній діяльності (волонтерство), ми точно знаємо, куди йдуть пожертвувані речі (прозорість), не виникають організаційні витрати (широка мережа підтримки), і ми виключаємо можливість корупції (фотодокументування українською стороною).

Один реанімобіль був доставлений в Україну ще до Різдва завдяки ініціативі “Допомога Україні Ліппе-Білефельд”. На початку цього тижня другий автомобіль – VW Crafter – було передано безпосередньо українській стороні. У п’ятницю відбудеться передача ще двох машин, двох Mercedes-Benz, які до України доставлять члени ініціативи “Допомога Україні Ліппе-Білефельд”.

Цього разу водіями будуть Ульріх Нольтінг, Алан Стентон, Гольгер Варнат та Норберт Розін.

На жаль, через триваючу війну та неймовірні руйнування, яких вона завдає, люди в Україні й надалі потребують нашої гуманітарної допомоги та підтримки.

Чотири подаровані реанімобілі будуть використовуватися для цивільних потреб, щоб якнайшвидше транспортувати поранених через ракетні чи дронові атаки або з передової до лікарень.

Ми вже здійснили 26 гуманітарних конвоїв, передавши 64 транспортні засоби в Україну, серед яких кілька реанімобілів та один пожежний автомобіль.
